India's borders are quite different from what they used to be only 60
years ago, and because of that we're going to include 5 other nations in this
study: part of Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and part of Burma. Actually
we're going to have to refer to a map that's almost 60 years old in order to see what
India is shaped like. It's a map of British India that is pre-1947 when Great
Britain controlled India's government:
Now we just need to draw the appropriate border that is based on this
map, and we'll find that India is shaped like...
... a gorilla!
Why would these nations be shaped like a gorilla? I believe our Father chose the gorilla because it is
king of the apes, and king of the animals that most resembles us. Animals are an
important part of the Hindu religion, and they believe that god is in
everything. They also believe in many gods, including Hanuman the monkey-god. If they think god is an animal or a thing, then that's all they get.
It's obvious that our Father knew how His children would turn out before He made India and these other nations.
Apes actually occur twice in the Bible, in 2nd Chronicles 9:21, and a parallel passage in 1st Kings 10:
21 And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. 22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. 23 So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.
There is a note on this verse in the Companion Bible which states that the 'Hebrew' words for apes and peacocks are actually Indian words, in particular the Tamil language.
There is one major part of the Indian gorilla that we'll focus on, and that is its belly. Out of its belly flows a myriad of rivers that form the Ganges River delta:
"The combined delta of the Ganges and Brahmaputra Rivers is the largest in the world. This true-color image from the Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) shows both the delta and sediment flowing into the Bay of Bengal. Fed by monsoon rains and Himalayan snowmelt, the rivers often flood. These floods often cause catastrophic damage, but also enrich the soil" (from NASA's Earthobservatory).
"The river has its source in the Himalayas, at Gaumakh in the southern Himalayas on the Indian side of the Tibetan border. It is 1 560 miles (2 510 km) long and flows through China, India, Nepal and Bangladesh. The Ganges river basin is one of the most fertile and densely populated in the world and covers an area of 400 000 sq miles (1 000 000 sq km). The river flows through 29 cities with population over 100,000, 23 cities with population between 50,000 and 100,000, and about 48 towns" (originally from The Water Page, 2006 version).
Here's an even closer look at the delta:
The Ganges River is considered by Hindus to be holy and pure, and pilgrims flock to it by the millions to wash in it, and cleanse themselves of sin. However, the river is also incredibly polluted.
"Pollution of the Ganges has become so serious that bathing in and drinking its water has become very dangerous. The major polluting industry along the Ganges is the leather industry especially near Kanpur, from which Chromium and other chemicals leak into the river. Another huge source of pollution is that of the nearly 1 billion litres of mostly untreated raw sewage that enters the river every day. Inadequate cremation procedures result in partially burnt or unburnt corpses floating in the river" (from The Water Page).
There are so many corpses because Hindus desire to be cremated and have their ashes dispersed into the Ganges.
Since this river comes from the belly of the Indian gorilla, I thought it was quite a contrast to the Living Water recorded in John 7:
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, "If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." 39 (But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) 40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, "Of a truth this is the Prophet."
The condition is believing on Jesus Christ. Most East Indians do not, and therefore they receive polluted water from a filthy river. Why not choose the Living Water in John 4?
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, "If thou knewest the gift of God, and Who it is that saith to thee, 'Give Me to drink'; thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water." 11 The woman saith unto Him, "Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?" 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, "Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
